Overview
Civil engineering is a branch of engineering discipline that deals with the planning, design, estimate, construction, and maintenance of the physical works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings, docks and harbors, airports, railway lines, water supply and waste water plants etc. The professional course in Civil engineering is the requirement of various government departments as well as PSU like CPWD, Irrigation department, NTPC, NHAI, corporations and improvement trusts of cities etc.

It is my heartiest pleasure to be amongst the first to welcome you to in Department of civil engineering, ACEM. One of the truly great things in my view, about joining such a institution, is the opportunity to build something new and innovative. We are dedicated to helping you attain various skills. So I look forward to getting to know you all a bit better in coming weeks and months, and to hear your ideas about how the institute and its leadership can be helpful to you in your efforts.
Finally, some practical thoughts on being successful as a college student: Take advantage of EVERY opportunity to learn about what it is to be an engineer, whether it is lectures, labs, seminar series, and opportunities to participate in career fairs or industrial days whatever.
